This means driving to job sites to deliver material, locating entrance, doing a complete visual inspection of delivery site to ensure safe entry/exit, place chutes into position for unloading material and climb ladder to spray hopper. This person will drive in traffic, average 5-7 loads and 50-75 miles per day. We are a concrete supply company so you cannot be afraid of getting dirty. Other responsibilities include daily pre-shift inspections, preventative maintenance of vehicle, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. PLANT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS NEEDED – 3rd Shift (11pm-7:30am) – 4 Positions Open

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary: The Staff Accountant supports the Accounting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department. Under direction of the Accounting Manager the Staff Accountant makes routine choices within established procedures. They will perform troubleshooting to reconcile account balances and inquiry to obtain missing information or verify unusual data. Work is relatively independent, with supervision available to address non-routine questions. The primary purpose of this position is to relieve the Accounting Manager of certain responsibilities that will allow the Accounting Manager to spend time on Financial Statement preparation and analysis.

 Essential Functions:

  1. Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
  2. Prepare monthly account reconciliations and analyze account activity, making adjustments to account balances as needed.
  3. Track and report daily cash activities.
  4. Prepare and file various tax returns (sales and use tax, personal property tax, business tax, etc.).
  5. File taxes so that all requirements are met. Research tax filing requirements as needed.
  6. Maintain the Fixed Asset records including tracking asset additions, retirements, and calculating monthly depreciation. Ensure records are kept in accordance with Fixed Asset policies.
  7. Responsible for documenting accounting procedures and recommending process improvements.
  8. Invest time in understanding the operations of the company to assist in accounting decisions.
  9. Prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested.
  10. Use good judgment in making decisions associated with the performance of accounting assignments.
  11. Research account variances and fluctuations.
  12. Ability to work overtime as needed, particularly during month end closing.
  13. Act as a backup to the Accounts Payable Coordinator (processing fully cycle AP).

  •  Computer proficiency, particularly Excel spreadsheets and accounting   software.
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  •  Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  •  Excellent attention to detail.
  •  Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
  •  Preferred experience working in a multi-company or location organization.
  •  Preferred experience with fixed asset accounting.
